The Learning Center Program is a town-wide special education program that provides counseling, social skill and academic support for children who have been identified as having social, emotional or behavioral difficulties. The program is designed to provide a high level of structure and support, as well as an integrated program of services to address each individual student’s academic and behavioral needs. Family involvement is encouraged through daily communication.
The goal of the Learning Center is to help students to develop social, emotional and academic skills. To the maximum extent possible, students participate in the general education curriculum with supports, services, and instruction designed to allow them to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and abilities in a variety of ways.
